The new administration building and logistics center of the Swedish subsidiary Würth Svenska AB received the MIPIM Award 2015 in the category “Best Industrial & Logistics Development”.
The MIPIM Awards honor recognizes architectural projects around the world. The award, which is also known as “real estate Oscar”, was presented at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
In their statement, the jurors wrote: “The building merges the vernacular color of Falu red which is embedded in Swedish culture with the colors of Würth. Falu red adorns many of the vernacular buildings in Sweden and is seen here in a new contemporary context.”
The head office, which is 29,000 sq meters, consists of an administration building with offices and a modern conference center as well as a new logistics center and a pick-up shop. The facility was officially opened in May 2014.
“When designing the buildings of our national companies, the Würth Group has always placed great emphasis not only on functionality, but also on attractive and extraordinary architectural styles in which the employees feel comfortable. This is why we are particularly happy about the new building of Würth Sweden receiving an international architecture award,” said Peter Zürn, the Member of the Central Managing Board responsible for Würth Sweden.
Würth Sweden was founded in 1967 and currently employs 357 people.
