U.S. President Donald Trump hiked 10% tariffs on $200 billion of fasteners and other select goods manufactured in China to 25% beginning Friday, May 10 at 12:01 am. The original 10% duty on Chinese fasteners was applied September 24, 2018, prompting the U.S. fastener industry to immediately raise prices.
