The eight-page traditional paper brochure for the October 23-25, 2013 National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo in Las Vegas includes a one-page registration form. But a small percentage of those attending will use it.
Nearly two-thirds of attendees last year registered online for the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo.
NIFMSE will be October 23 – 25, 2013, at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. Events will begin Wednesday with conferences and an opening reception. The trade show will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
In 2012 65% of attendees registered online; 24% onsite; and 11% by email, mail or fax, according to NIFMSE.
The move to online preparation for the trade show is also demonstrated by the convention services supplier for exhibitors, Freeman Companies, offering a discount for ordering online.
The pace of exhibit space sales for the 2013 National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo edged up 1.4% as of the end of June, NIFMSE general manager Susan Hurley said.
Hurley reported 553 companies from 16 nations have booked 728 booths.
There were 770 booths at the 2012 trade show and 757 in 2011. The record was set in 2007 at 829 booths.
Exhibitors thus far come from 16 countries: Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, U.S.A. and Vietnam.
In addition to educational programs by the Fastener Training Institute and Women in the Fastener Industry, show management announced free programs for registered show participants on “Know Today How Your Fasteners will Perform Tomorrow,” by Dr. Louis Raymond; a seminar presented by Manufacturers’ Agents National Association on rep firm succession planning, valuing and recruiting; and a MANA seminar for manufacturers on working with reps.
