Titan Fastener Buys Atlas Screw
Titan Fastener Buys Atlas Screw
Jason Sandefur
Titan Fastener Products Inc. acquired Atlas Screw & Specialty from Heads & Threads International, Titan president Eric Kuchar announced. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Brunswick, GA-based Titan is a 15-year-old master distributor of packaged fasteners. “This basically doubles the size of Titan Fasteners,” Kuchar told FIN.
Titan will consolidate Atlas operations in New Bedford, MA, and Sayreville, NJ, into a 45,000 sq ft facility at 114 Melrich Rd., South Brunswick, NJ 08512. Former Atlas president Rich Megliola was named executive vice president of Titan. Megliola will manage the South Brunswick operations.
Upon integration, Titan will have about 75 employees at facilities in Brunswick; Elk Grove Village, IL; and South Brunswick.
Titan CEO Joe Kuchar said the rationale behind the purchase was simple. “Growing the business one account at a time takes too long in today’s marketplace,” he explained. E-mail: eric.kuchar@titanfasteners.com Web: titanfasteners.com 2004 FastenerNews.com
