Tinnerman To Close Ohio Plant

Jason Sandefur

Tinnerman Palnut Engineered Products plans to close its Massillon, OH, fastener plant in the next couple of months. The Akron Beacon Journal reports the manufacturer will eliminate about 160 jobs and move production to factories in New Jersey and Canada. CEO Jim Finley told the Beacon Journal that continued pricing pressure from its customers forced the closing. Brunswick, OH-based Tinnerman makes auto parts fasteners that are used by all the major automakers.
Tinnerman is owned by the investment firm Kohlberg & Co. LLC, which purchased the company from TransTechnology in 2001 for about $98 million. E-mail: info@tinnermanpalnut.com Web: tinnermanpalnut.com 2003 FastenerNews.com
