Tennalum Plans $19m Expansion
Jason Sandefur
Kaiser Aluminum plans a $19 million expansion of Tennalum, its aerospace manufacturing plant in Jackson, TN, the Jackson Sun reports.
The move is expected to add up to 50 new jobs, according to general manager Mark Lane. The company currently employs about 200 to produce extruded aluminum fasteners. The expansion will add 13,000 sq ft to Tennalum’s existing 310,000 square ft facility.
The majority of the $19 million expansion cost will come in the form of equipment. The investment includes the addition of an extrusion press, a heat-treat furnace and additional drawbenches. 2008 FastenerNews.com
