Taiwan Fastener Exports To Increase
Jason Sandefur
Fastener manufacturers in Taiwan are forecasting a 15% increase in the weight of fastener exports this year. Taiwan Business News reported that 2003 shipments are expected to reach 1.15 metric tons. However, in a country that exports 80% of its fasteners, the sales prediction for the year is even brighter, with some companies expecting a 40% rise in sales. Orders for April have already increased on news of a quick end to the war in Iraq.
Taiwan Business News stated that price hikes on steel in the U.S. and Japan have prompted fastener manufactures in those countries to increase outsourcing contracts with Taiwan. 2003 FastenerNews.com
