TriMas Corp. reported sales in its Aerospace segment increased 7.3% to $48.9 million in the first quarter of 2020 due to the February acquisition of RSA Engineered Products and solid demand for fastener products.
Segment operating profit rose 25% due to improved production efficiencies and a more favorable product sales mix.
Revenue increased “due to higher demand levels for more complex fasteners.”
“Increased demand more than offset the impact of the decision to exit less profitable machined components.”
“During the quarter, we captured increased end market demand through our refocused commercial efforts,” stated CEO Thomas Amato.
Monogram, which was selected out of approximately 650 suppliers, completed all program deliverables and improved on-time delivery.
Overall TriMas sales increased 3% to $817.7 million in 2017, with operating profit growing to $88.5 million.
Revenue gains driven by “continued improved production throughput and deliveries, and solid order demand.”
“Through an improved design, TriMas was able to significantly reduce its square footage and annual expense with an updated and refreshed environment, all while allowing for future growth,” the company stated.
