John Wolz
Spiralock International published a report by technical writer Del Williams on “Four Things Engineers Must Know About Locking Fasteners to Keep Their Products & Careers in the Fast Lane.”
Choosing “the wrong fastener for the application and the best laid engineering plans and products can fall apart.” The article emphasizes focusing on retaining fastener tension, not torque assembly methods; treating fasteners as critical components; choosing the right locking fastener; and lifetime costs including design, assembly, warranty and liability.
