Specialty Screw Breaks Ground on $2.5 Million Expansion
Specialty Screw Corporation held a ground breaking ceremony for a 20,000 sq ft, $2.5 million addition to its Illinois plant.
The company plans to add 10 employees, CEO Russ Johansson announced.
Four skilled cold heading tradesmen founded Specialty Screw in 1953 to supply fasteners to the automotive and cabinet hardware industries.
Specialty Screw has received awards for conservation of energy, land and water. Its building energy and management includes capturing heat sources such as air compressors to heat the building, using energy efficient lighting, recycling waste oil and scrap, routing faxes and sales quoting documents electronically. The plant in Rockford features a native prairie.
Last year automotive seating supplier Adient honored Specialty Screw with their supplier performance award for leadership, commitment to excellence, and exceptional performance in quality, cost, logistics, development, technology and service.
Specialty Screw manufactures cold formed parts for automotive and other markets, including lawn and garden, plumbing, residential window and door hardware, firearms and hand tools.
