Sourcing / Quoting Analyst

Position Summary:
The Quoting Analyst is responsible for managing the overall customer quotation process. This includes responsibility for the identification of fasteners and C-commodities per customer blueprints and specifications, finding various sources in alignment with the Field sourcing initiatives, quotation and costing of parts in response to new customer opportunities, and collaboration and coordination of other team members who may have involvement in the process.

Essential Functions:
- Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
- Represent the Sourcing/Quoting group as a member of Field’s Sourcing Team.
- Understand, master and utilize Field’s quoting software.
- Ensure understanding of Preferred Suppliers and supplier classifications, and utilize that knowledge in the issuing and analysis of an opportunity.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, quotations, and items to achieve desired timelines.
- Provide meaningful feedback on supplier performance and engagement.
- Willingness to share information and support the sourcing team on initiatives and opportunities.
- Make sourcing recommendations in a timely manner based on Field Fastener strategy.
- Evaluate blueprints, understand manufacturing need, issue part quotation to suitable suppliers within that category.
- Negotiate costs and quantity to achieve company goals on profitability and turns.
- Effective time management and electronic organization between Excel and Outlook is essential.
- Identify missing information and coordinate resolution with the required stakeholders.
- Ability to offer lower cost alternatives where applicable to sales and customer.
- Provide meaningful feedback to sales once a quotation is completed on approach to market conditions.
- Understand and manage costing for secondary process and assembly/kitting requirements.
- Provide suggestions for Field to add to either supply base or commodity offering.
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
- Polite and professional manner.
- Previous fastener experience highly recommended.
- Experience with quoting software.
- Knowledge and experience identifying and working with fastener suppliers.
- Good mechanical/technical aptitude.
- Basic print reading ability.
- Sense of urgency and ability to have clarity of thought when communicating with other internal or external stakeholders.
- Strong team player and able to work successfully in a cross-functional environment.
- Ability to work with limited direct supervision.
- Must be comfortable interacting in meetings and on phone calls to both provide and seek vital information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Experience successfully managing multiple projects and tracking status.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with internal team members and external suppliers both domestically and internationally.
- Capable of strategically analyzing and interpreting data.
- Good comprehension skills.
- Sound business decision making ability.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work on projects and make sound decisions based on strategic objectives.
- Willing and motivated to develop skills to take on additional responsibilities.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate large projects.
Additional Skills Preferred:
- College degree in business, supply chain, economics, finance or related area; relevant experience equal to a four-year degree will be considered.
- A minimum of 3-5 years business-related knowledge and experience in sourcing or supplier development.
- Negotiating experience and/or knowledge of negotiating techniques.
- Experience creating/evaluating quotations and supplier management.
- An understanding of LEAN principles.
