Michael Smith of Smith Associates was elected president of the Metropolitan Fastener Distributors Association.
Smith, who started in the industry in 1971, is the first manufacturer�s representative to head MFDA in its 37-year history. He succeeds Leslie Sieper of Bossard Michigan Merrick.
Ed Werner of EZ Sockets was elected first vice president; Chuck Halpin of Brighton-Best, second vice president; Larry Klein of Uneeda Bolt & Screw, a 30-year industry veteran, treasurer; and Vic LaPoma of Kanebridge Corporation, secretary.
