Simpson Mfg. To Buy MGA

Simpson Manufacturing Co. has agreed to purchase Maple Ridge, British Columbia-based MGA Construction Hardware & Steel Fabricating Ltd. and MGA Connectors Ltd. for about $8.8 million in cash. Dublin, CA-based Simpson plans the acquisition through its Canadian subsidiary Simpson Strong-Tie Canada Ltd. of Brampton, Ontario, and expects the deal to close in the second quarter of 2003.
