� Demaich Industries Inc. doubled its plant size, president Doug Hood announced. The Johnston, RI, plant is now 9,400 sq ft, and Demaich is adding 50% more capital equipment to produce customized and production-run insulation fasteners and single-threaded nuts in addition to thermostatic bi-metal assemblies, snap-action components and mono-metal stampings.

� Powers Fasteners Inc. announced that 35,000 of its Zamac Hammer-Screws were used to quickly repair 40,000 sq ft of slate roof at the Pentagon after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack. Powers donated half of the hammer-screws after the National Roofing Contractors Association called for donations of labor and materials.
