Active Screw & Fastener president Simon Blattner announced three people have joined the distributorship: Kathy Males as associate director for planning; Ed Esparza as quality assurance manager; Ed Derka as associate director of sourcing.
Males was product manager at Victor Automotive. Esparza has 16 years experience with K-Tech, ITW Shakeproof and Eskay Screw. Derka has 20 years experience, including Lake Erie Screw and Semblex.

Peter Femiak is the new vice president of sales & marketing for ADP Rivet Co., president Peter DePaola announced. Femiak has 30 years fastener experience, including as distributor marketing manager at Emhart Fastening Teknologies.
Femiak will be responsible for ADP sales & marketing tools, including advertising, new product press releases, videos and CDs for distributors and sales representatives.
Femiak has been active in the National Fastener Distributors Association, Industrial Distribution Association and on the manufacturers liaison committee for the Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association.
ADP designs and manufactures blind rivet products. The ADP owners have 26 years of fastener manufacturing experience dating back to the Automatic Fastener Corp., which later was sold to Huck. Lindstrom Metric will double the size of its Greer, SC, operations by consolidating its two area facilities. The Herald-Journal reports that Lindstrom Metric and subsidiary Mega Metric will build a 172,000 sq ft manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service center on 10 acres. The facility will replace Lindstrom Metric”s 4,000 sq ft sales office and warehouse on East Phillips Road and Mega Metric”s 40,000 sq ft manufacturing, warehousing and office facility next door. The two companies employ 70 combined.
“Our Greer operations have been very successful,” said president Virg Lindstrom. “As we evaluated our business model, we realized that consolidating two operations to one facility provides us with better efficiencies and potentials for the future.”

Metal Coatings International named Shinichi Kimura vice president, CEO George Palek announced. Kimura has 34 years experience with NOF Corporation in Japan, most recently with BASF NOF Coatings Co. Ltd. He was vice president of U.S. Paint, a former subsidiary of NOF. Kimura will coordinate MCII projects with global affiliates and act as liaison with Japanese automakers.
