“Rosie” The Custom Riveter Completed

A Wisconsin automotive assemblies manufacturer found a unique way to show support for breast cancer awareness.
The company asked National Rivet to build a pink Model 600 electro-mechanical rivet setter.

Dubbed “Rosie,” the machine — a medium-duty model that sets steel, semi-tubular rivets up to 3/16” diameter — required National Rivet to use several gallons of pink paint in place of the company’s usual “battleship grey.”

The rush order was unique for National Rivet.

“We’ve custom built thousands of machines since our founding in the 1928, but none of them were pink,” said Bur Zeratsky, Executive Vice President of National Rivet.

“Building this riveter became a very important project for employees as many of them know people who have been impacted by breast cancer.”

National Rivet started as a manufacturer of fastening components for brake linings in the 1920s. The company found success during World War II as a supplier of aluminum aircraft rivets.

After the war, National Rivet expanded into a variety of industrial applications.

National Rivet is a fourth-generation, family-owned company. The company offers extensive cold heading manufacturing capabilities, as well as rivet setters.

The company is located at 21 E. Jefferson St., Waupun, WI 53963. Email: mail@nationalrivet.com Web: nationalrivet.com ©2012 GlobalFastenerNews.com
