Reinhold Würth Celebrates 75th Work Anniversary
Reinhold Würth celebrated his 75th work anniversary on October 1.
The Würth Group patriarch turned the former two-man business into a global market leader in fasteners with 83,000 employees and $16 billion in annual sales.
“I would never have achieved the success we are seeing today without the hard work and the loyalty of these 88,000 people from all these different cultures, different backgrounds, with different nationalities, and different religions,” stated Reinhold Würth.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz offered his congratulations on the occasion.
“It is thanks to entrepreneurs like Professor Reinhold Würth that Germany has such a strong economy. His entrepreneurial courage and his tireless commitment to the company and its employees are impressive and deserve my respect and admiration.”
Fourteen-year old Reinhold Würth began working for his father’s fledgling wholesale screw business in 1949 as its second employee and first apprentice. Five years later, he took over after his father died.
Reinhold Würth retired from daily company operations in 1994, but he still chairs the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group’s family trusts. His daughter, Bettina Würth, is chairwoman of the Group’s advisory board.
Reinhold Würth is ranked among the world’s richest people, with a net worth that Forbes estimates at $37.2 billion. Web: wurth.com
