PCC Adds McWilliams Forge to Cherry & GSC Acquisitions

John Wolz

Precision Castparts Corp. agreed to acquire McWilliams Forge Company Inc. of New Jersey and will create a business segment composed of recently acquired fastener manufacturer Cherry Aerospace, GSC Foundries and McWilliams.

The business segment will allow PCC to integrate the acquisitions “in a timely manner.” PCC acquired Cherry earlier this month and GSC in December (see FIN, January 16, 2007).

The McWilliams acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

Founded in 1880, privately-held McWilliams manufactures titanium, nickel and steel forgings for commercial and military aircraft and smaller aircraft. McWilliams employs 120 people in Rockaway, NJ. McWilliams operates hammer and screw presses for open- and closed-die forging. Web: mcwilliamsforge.com

Portland, OR-headquartered Precision Castparts, a manufacturer jet and gas turbine engine parts, in the past three years has acquired fastener manufacturers SPS Technologies, Shur-Lok and Air Industries, in addition to Cherry. Web: precast.com 2007 FastenerNews.com
