IMG SRC=”../images/weblogo2.gif” ALIGN=”LEFT”>Gordon Arborak, founder of Pacific Fasteners Ltd., died February 12, 2004, of cancer at age 68.
Arborak saw a need for a fastener distributor in Vancouver, Canada, and with his wife, Evelyn, started Pacific Fasteners in 1972. He acquired the Toronto inventory of ITT Harper when it closed in 1981 and hired its staff to open a branch there. He opened a Seattle warehouse in 1983. Most of the 25 current Pacific Fastener employees have been with the company for more than 15 years.
Arborak was president of the Western Association of Fastener Distributors in 1985-86 and a member of the National Fastener Distributors Association and Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association.
Survivors include his wife and son Scott.
