Recording another record performance, Nucor Corp. reported cold finished steel sales, including fasteners, rose 6.2% to 187,000 tons in the first six months of 2006.
Consolidated revenue rose 21% to a record $3.81 billion during the second quarter of 2006, while earnings soared 40% to $452.8 million. Average sales price per ton increased 5%, with total tons shipped rising 15% to a record 5.82 million tons. Average scrap and scrap substitute cost per ton edged up to $247.
