MWFA Thanks Eight 35-Year Exhibitors
The Mid-West Fastener Association honored eight companies which have exhibited at all 35 years of trade shows the association has held.
Abbott-Interfast, Brighton-Best Int’l, Fastener Industry News (GlobalFastenerNews.com), Metric & Multistandard Components, Nylok-Chicago, Tramec Continental-Aero, Vertex Distribution and XL Screw exhibited in the first “One-on-One” show in 1982.
There were 40 exhibiting companies at the first show. There were 120 exhibiting companies for the biennial tabletop in 2016.
Some of the companies are using different names today – such as Vertex as a successor name for Bell Fasteners or Tramec Continental-Aero for Aero-Stop Nut Corp.
MWFA was known as the Chicago Bolt, Nut & Screw Association until 2004.
The next trade show for the Chicago-based association will be Fastener Tech on June 5-7, 2017, at Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
MWFA will mark its 70th anniversary on October 6, 2016, at the Brookfield Zoo. Web: MWFA.net
