MWFA Marks 75th Anniversary by Naming 17 to Hall of Fame
The Midwest Fastener Association marked its 75th anniversary by reviving its Hall of Fame with 17 individual inductees and honoring two member companies.
Listed in order of service: Howard Langdon, Langdon Industry Supply and Fastron; Marty Binder, Abbott Interfast; Arne Henriksen Sr., Anchor Bolt & Screw; Rick Binder, Abbott Interfast; Nick Couzins, Mid-Continent Screw Co.; Bob Obeler, Mid-Continent Screw Co.; Craig Cohn, Lewis Screw; Arne Henriksen Jr., Engineered Components; Bill Lang Sr., Certified Products; Don Nowak, Hoyt Fasteners and Falcon Metal; Alina Agresto, Delta Secondary; Wally Olczak, Fabsco Corp.; Mark Novak, Interplex Co.; Tom Blakley, Brighton-Best; Kevin Kaihara, World Washer & Stamping; Henry Chernow, Mecom Industries; and Nancy Rich, MWFA and CBNSA.
Wrought Washer Mfg. and XL Screw Corp. were honored as the initial company inductees into the MWFA Hall of Fame.
Chernow was the last president of the Chicago Bolt, Nut & Screw Association and the first MWFA president. CBNSA became MWFA in 2004.
CBNSA was formed in 1946 by Langdon, Ly Lathan, Al Granat and Manny Slutsky. Agresto was the first woman president in 1994/95. Rich has been the executive for the association since 1984.
