Lawson Products Inc. reported second quarter net income rose 28% to $5.3 million, driven by a 7.6% increase in net sales to a quarterly record of $104.4 million.
Q2 OEM sales climbed 24% to $20.9 million, while MRO sales gained 4.1% to $83.5 million.
For the first six months of 2004, sales gained 6.2% to $205.1 million, while earnings jumped 50% to $11.8 million. First half sales to OEMs increased 19.7% to $40.1 million, while MRO sales rose 3.3% to $165 million. “In light of the difficulties presented by the steel and commodity markets this year, I am pleased with our improved performance,” stated CEO Robert Washlow.
