ITC Rules on Wire Duties From Canada
ITC Rules on Wire Duties From Canada
Jason Sandefur
An existing countervailing duty order on carbon and alloy steel wire rod from Canada will be revoked following a determination by the U.S. International Trade Commission that suspending the order will not lead to material injury.
However, the ITC left in place a duty order on imports of carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Moldova, Trinidad and Tobago, and Ukraine. The action followed a determination that revoking the existing countervailing duty order on carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from Brazil and the existing antidumping duty orders on imports of that product from Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Moldova, Trinidad and Tobago, and Ukraine would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.
The action comes under the mandatory five-year (sunset) review process for such cases.
