IFI, LAFA Offer One-Week Fastener Specialist Training

The Fastener Training Institute will conduct a five-day advanced technical training program for fastener distributors and manufacturers on manufacturing processes, consensus standards and quality control. May 4-8, 2009, in Chicago.
Upon completion of the training and passing the final exam, participants will receive the Certified Fastener Specialist designation.

Instructors will be Joe Greenslade, director of engineering technology for the Industrial Fasteners Institute; Carmen Vertullo, of Simply Better Inc.; and Salim Brahimi, president of IBECA Technologies.
The Chicago program includes plant tours of manufacturing, secondary processes and testing facilities.
Students will receive a copy of the 7th edition of the IFI Inch Fastener Standards, IFI Glossary of Terms Relating to Aerospace Fasteners, and FTI’s Basic Fastener Handbook.
The Industrial Fasteners Institute and the Los Angeles Fastener Association are conducting the accelerated CFS training. LAFA created the CFS program in 1998 and usually offered in a series of one-day courses in Southern California. There are more than 200 CFS graduates. �2008 FastenerNews.com
