Howmet Sells SNEP S.A. to Böllhoff Group
Howmet Aerospace sold its aerospace fastener business SNEP S.A. to the Böllhoff Group for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 1918, Montbrison, France-based SNEP manufactures specialty fasteners and machined components for aerospace and industrial markets. Using a variety of screw machining techniques, SNEP’s products range from special washers, nuts and bushings to fluid fittings and build-to-print precision parts. SNEP’s products can be found in many critical applications, including commercial aircraft wings, helicopter engines, landing gear, and propellors.
SNEP’s manufacturing know-how expands the Böllhoff Group’s current manufacturing competencies for the aerospace sector, particularly in the areas of turning and machining.
“France is an important aerospace market for Böllhoff,” stated managing partner Michael W. Böllhoff. “The acquisition of SNEP helps us to be closer to key customers and to fulfill their individual requirements even better in the future.”
This deal marks the third global transaction Howmet has completed in the last two years. In March 2020, Howmet sold its Changwon Precision Extrusions division in South Korea after selling its Firth Rixson Forgings business in the UK the previous year.
