Heinz Soyer Wins Fastener Innovator 2013

The SRM patented stud welding in a rotating magnetic field system from Heinz Soyer Bolzenschweisstechnik GmbH won the Fastener Technology Innnovator 2013 competition at Fastener Fair Stuttgart 2013.
Announcing the top competitors at a presentation on the final day of the Fastener Fair, Phil Matten, Executive Editor of Fastener + Fixing Magazine, noted that the judges proclaimed the system “a remarkable technical advance, delivering an outstanding range of productivity and economic benefits to users.”
Nord-Lock won second place for its bolted joint security product, the X-series washer.
Third prize went to the ISS Clamping Screw from Böhl Gruppe, which the judges described as “a very smart designed, quality clamping screw.”
In selecting the winners from a field of 19 entries Matten said the judges considered not just the products’ technical merits but also “the benefits they could deliver to fastener users.”
Joining Matten on panel were recently retired secretary of the EFDA, Bernd Stapf, and Mark Salmon, an independent fixings consultant and regularly contributor to the pages of Fastener + Fixing Magazine.
