The 29th annual convention set STAFDA records. At 4,560 pre-registration ran 9% more than the record set in 2004. There were a record 815 booths, with about 20% as new exhibitors. There were a record 28 vendors at the opening day Tech Fair.
Executive director Georgia Foley suggested a contributing factor to the record registration for the Baltimore convention was the Mid-Atlantic location as 70% of STAFDA members are east of the Mississippi.
Foley reported STAFDA membership is up to 1,162 distributorships, 1,143 associates, 329 rep agents and 21 affilliates/press. Foley pointed out that more new members are in the building material, trades, safety, MRO, concrete and industrial businesses.
The 30th annual convention will be November 13-15, 2006, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The schedule will change from the traditional Sunday through Tuesday events to a Monday through Wednesday convention. E-mail: info@stafda.org Web: stafda.org \ 2005 FastenerNews.com
