We are doing a retained search for our client who is looking for a Global Account Manager (GAM) for the Energy & Energy Associated Industry to develop the North American business with assigned accounts. Based in Houston
Our client develops, manufactures, and markets products for the construction and building maintenance industries, primarily to the professional end-user. It concentrates primarily on hammer drills, firestops, and installation systems, but manufactures and markets an array of tools (including fasteners, cordless electric drills, heavy angle drills, laser levels and power saws).

This role would be responsible for securing specifications of the Client’s systems with E&C or design companies that support/supply major Energy Company infrastructure projects and/or work to secure specifications of the Client’s systems in-house for those Energy Companies that do their own design work.

He/she would be responsible for sales and sales results to specific global accounts and would be the Client’s primary contact and negotiator for the accounts assigned to him/her. They would be responsible for coordinating the necessary client and/or international resources required to support the key projects of the assigned customers. They would also be responsible for developing and executing effective account development strategies to ensure an increasing share of the “spend” and an attractive return on sales.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience in sales, field engineering, sales management and business development with strong analytical and strategic capabilities who has or can develop a strong working knowledge of client’s capabilities. They also need excellent communication and negotiation skills.

The main objective is to securing master and project specifications for key applications and to converting specifications to sales on targeted projects. The would also need to obtain high levels of penetration and profitability on targeted projects and create and sustain customer enthusiasm leading to bonding with assigned accounts and repeat business.

Around 10-15 years experience and a BA / BS – Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or Chemical Engineering required and an MBA is preferred.
