Ford Fasteners Marks 60 Years
Ford Fasteners Inc. is marking its 60th anniversary. Ford was founded in 1963 by George Cellary in a moving and storage warehouse in New Jersey. He would take bulk boxes of fasteners, weigh them on a bathroom scale to repack in smaller quantities and deliver to customers.
Ford Fasteners early on marketed “Ford for 400” as its original products were 410 stainless screws for hardware distributors supplying aluminum windows and doors. Ford soon added stainless steel screws for appliance manufacturers.
Ford started manufacturing with two heading machines, two thread rolling machines and cold heading wire.
George’s sons Chris Cellary and Steve Cellary joined the company years later. Steve, who began with Ford working on cold heading machines, is now president.
Today the family-owned business supplies 410 stainless steel self drilling, self piercing and sheet metal screws plus EPDM bonded sealing washers from its facility in Fairfield, NJ. Web: FordFasteners.com
