Aderman conducts gathering at 2010 NIFS/East in Columbus
A four-woman panel will tell about their fastener careers during an organization meeting of Women in the Fastener Industry, panel moderator Mary Lou Aderman announced.
The November 8, 2010, meeting in Las Vegas is in conjunction with the National Industrial Fastener Show/West.
Panelists for 2010 are: Joanne Bialas, national sales manager, International Fasteners, and president of the Southeastern Fastener Association; Mary Chambers of Assembly Products & Sales; Nicki Long, national accounts manager for Fastenmaster at OMG Roofing Products; and Simmi Sakhuja, president and owner of Stelfast Inc.
Aderman, who owns Aderman Co., a rep agency, and a mentoring service, organized the first meeting in conjunction with NIFS/East last spring.
There also was a four-person panel at a fastener women’s meeting in 1986. The Exchange Network – “TEN” – held its first meeting in Columbus, Ohio, in conjunction with the 6th annual National Industrial Fastener Show & Conference.
Some of the four panelists from the original womens’ meeting are still active in the industry. Click on Fastener History for the article titled, “1986 FIN – Fastener Women’s Network Holds 1st Meeting” for the names.
The 1986 meeting was chaired by Laura Kaiser, vice president/general manager of Flexalloy’s Indianapolis division and drew 42 women.
The original prospectus for TEN, described it as “an organization linking the fast track fastener females of varying ages, interests, positions, experience and goals.”
