The 2011 FIN Stock Review is available, revealing strong investment to capture greater market share.

Among the findings:

*  This California fastener company made acquisitions in 2011 that “significantly” strengthened its product offering with respect to aerospace bolts and nuts for both airframe and engine applications.”

*  This corporation grew its fastener segment revenue 25%, delivering the company’s strongest organic sales growth during the year.

*  Gains in the aerospace aftermarket business and North American distribution businesses produced sales growth of 11% at this company, with fastener segment profit jumping 65%.

*  This veteran fastener manufacturer achieved 8% revenue growth as the domestic automotive market improved. But higher raw material, fuel and plating costs and a doubling of capital expenditures cut into profits in 2011.

*  This fastener industry leader has retooled its growth engine by finding a way to deliver what their customers need, when and where they need it.

*  This Chicago-based distributor achieved strong sales and profit gains by focusing on e-commerce.

*  “There is no doubt that the industrial market place is now rewarding the narrowing field of distributors who are capable of consolidating customers’ spend across multiple locations, and providing the technology and technical expertise required to improve productivity and reduce supply chain costs,” this fastener distributor’s CEO stated.

*  Increased industrial OEM sales (primarily in the agricultural market) and industrial distributor business tied to the energy and natural resources markets helped this North American fastener company to shed low-margin automotive business.
