FIN Fastener Stock Index Up 11.5% for 1st Quarter

Fastener stocks easily outperformed related stock indexes for the first quarter of 2002. The FIN Fastener Stock Index rose 11.5% in the opening quarter, compared with a 3.4% increase for the related indexes.
Fastener stocks gaining more than 10% included Aviall, Black & Decker, Danaher, Dover, Honeywell, Kaydon, Nucor, Penn Engineering, Precision Castparts, SPS Technologies, Textron, Fastenal, Park-Ohio, R&B, Chicago Rivet, Eastern and Ivaco.
