FIN Fastener History Aids in Industry Research

Jim Witucki of Nucor Fastener used the Fastener History section of GlobalFastenerNews.com in preparing his 2011 state-of-the-industry presentation at the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo.
Witucki cited three of hundereds of FIN articles available by clicking on Fastener History:
• 1985 FIN – Bethlehem Steel Bows Out of Fastener Manufacturing With Sale of 1882 Pennsylvania Plant. The Lebanon plant once employed 2,400.
• 1985 FIN – Sheffield Acquires Armco’s Kansas City Fastener Operations. The Armco fastener plant opened in 1888 and once employed 475 people and closed in 1983.
• 1981 FIN – Lamson & Sessions Sells Much of Industrial Fasteners Division to RB&W. Lamson & Sessions began operations in 1866.

There are historical references back to the founding of RB&W in 1845.
