FastenersClearingHouse.com Launching ‘Distributors Only’ Section

FastenersClearingHouse.com (FCH) is adding a new “distributors only” section to its database. Dubbed “FCH 2.0”, the update is scheduled for early November.

“One thing we’ve heard loud and clear is that many distributors want a place where they can market only to other distributors,” said operations Eric Dudas. “FCH 2.0 brings features to the market that will serve suppliers who have asked for this type of exclusivity, while keeping the open side of FCH that we’ve become known for.”

Promising “an approach for every kind of distributor,” FCH will offer members the option of listing their inventory in the current format, which is open to anyone online, or to list it in a secure portion of the website available only to other fastener distributors. Members can also list in both areas.

Distributors can already post up to 19,000 lines and receive RFQs from buyers. Distributors can load data from a variety of formats.

Along with the new secure area, FCH 2.0 will offer a new graduated membership option for distributors with lower inventory volumes. “This will remove all the barriers to Internet marketing for every sized distributor,” Dudas noted.

Naperville, IL-based FCH will remain free to use as a search tool and sourcing option for the worldwide market. However, users who wish to access the new distributors portion of the database will be required to register.
