Description:
Industrial Fastener Distributor seeks Experienced Industrial Sales Rep. to manage and grow our business in Southeastern Michigan (Metro Detroit). This position requires extensive territory experience serving multiple industries (more than just automotive), extensive Industrial Fastener and MRO product knowledge and a minimum 3 years Industrial Sales experience.

In keeping with our commitment to our customers we are looking for a dynamic, experienced Industrial Sales person to identify and grow our business in a specified territory.
The successful candidate will have extensive Fastener, Hardware, Tool and MRO Supply experience, a dynamic personality, professional demeanor, negotiation and Sales skills. He/She will have an intimate knowledge of industry for growth opportunities within his/her territory resulting from living and working in the area. He/She will have a minimum of 3 years experience in Industrial Sales with some college coursework completed.
Compensation:
This is full-time exempt position which includes base salary, no-cap commissions and expense allowance plus competitive benefits package including 401(k) employer match.
Responsibilities:
• Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
• Consult with clients after sales or contract signings in order to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
• Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.
• Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
• Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
• Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales.
• Negotiate details of contracts and payments, and prepare sales contracts and order forms.
• Obtain credit information about prospective customers.
• Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports.
• Prepare estimates, and bids that meet specific customer needs.
• Provide customers with product samples and catalogs.
• Recommend products to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests
• Train customers’ employees to operate and maintain new equipment.
• Assist the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
• Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
Qualifications:
-3 years Industrial Sales Experience required.
-5 years Outside or Territory Sales experience required.
-High School Diploma and some College coursework completed
-4 year Business/Marketing degree preferred
-Must have a reliable vehicle and clean valid driver’s license.
-Must be punctual and professional
-Must have intimate working knowledge of industry in Southeastern Michigan (Metro Detroit).
