Fastener Fair Opens Tuesday in Stuttgart
FEATURES
The first Fastener Fair was held in 1995 in England. By 2009 the Fastener Fair Stuttgart version grew to ‘World’s Largest’ fastener trade show.
A yet larger Fastener Fair Stuttgart opens Tuesday in Germany.
The trade show was started by Jerry Ramsdale at Castle Donington in England and drew only 27 exhibitors, but thousands of visitors.
As a socket screw wholesaler, Ramsdale was looking for new customers, but there was no UK fastener trade show.
The UK exhibition grew and in 2005 Ramsdale launched Fastener Fair Stuttgart.
By 2007 the now biennial trade shows’s exhibitor numbers more than doubled over 2005, from 198 to 435 attending from 32 countries.
The 2009 Fastener Fair Stuttgart overtook the National Industrial Fastener Show in the U.S. to take the title NIFS had touted for decades: “World’s Largest Fastener Show.”
Fastener Fair reported 625 exhibiting companies in 2011 totaling the equivalent of 1,076 10×10 booths and 5,993 people from 70 countries.
In 2013, Mack Brooks reported 10,600 participants from 97 countries at Fastener Fair Stuttgart.
For the 2015 trade show, Mack Brooks recently expanded to a 4th hall to accommodate the 842+ exhibiting companies from 42 countries.
The Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday trade show is at Stuttgart Messe Trade Fair Centre, near the Stuttgart Airport.
In early 2010, international trade show organizer Mack Brooks Exhibitions Group acquired Fastener Fairs Limited.
Fastener Fairs are also conducted in Mexico, Brazil, Russia, India and Turkey.
