Fastener Company Performance Index Slips for 2006

After two steady years the FIN Company Performance Index dropped to 6.8 at the end of 2006, according to the 28th annual FIN Survey of the Fastener Industry. The index had been 7.5 at the end of the previous two years.
The index has industry leaders rate their current company performance from 0 to 10, with 10 as record growth and profits and 0 as bankruptcy. In the 13 years of the FIN Index it has ranged from a low of 5.6 at the end of 2001 to a high of 7.9 for 1994.
At 7.2 distributors reported 2006 was a better year than manufacturers at 6.2. �2007 FastenerNews.com
