Fabory Sold To HgCapital

European private equity firm HgCapital agreed to acquire Fabory from AAC Capital Partners for EUR 345 million (US$487.1 million). The deal is expected to be finalized in the next month.
Netherlands-based Fabory, formerly known as Borstlap “Masters in Fasteners” Group, is an industrial fastener distributor with 1,800 employees in 14 countries, including the U.S., China, Germany and France. The company serves more than 120,000 customers worldwide, handling up to 7.5 million order lines per year from its stock of 80,000 different mechanical and chemical fasteners, tools and industrial supplies.
In recent years the company has expanded its Fabory Centres (FCs) a business-to-business convenience retail concept specializing in fasteners for MRO markets.
HgCapital noted that “Fabory has enjoyed strong growth in recent years under AAC ownership, expanding the number of FCs from 50 to 89 and transitioning successfully from a family-owned business to institutional ownership.”
“We have been following the progress of Fabory closely for nearly four years,” noted HgCapital Benelux managing director Alex Shivananda. “Accordingly we are willing to pay a good price for a great business. With our pan-European coverage and local presence we are well-positioned to support Fabory’s exciting plans for geographical expansion.”
FABORY will form part of HgCapital’s Business Services portfolio.
