EWMenn delivered its 5,000th machine. The model AF-101 will be used for production of special parts, primarily for aerospace parts, director Ernst W. Menn announced. High tech materials such as titanium will be rolled using a high frequency induction-heating unit to heat blanks just prior to rolling. The machine was customized for customer specific requirements including an automatic conveyor and process control system for monitoring quality of every part produced.
Founded in 1913, E.W. Menn GmbH & Co. KG designs and builds custom machines. EWMenn manufactured the first screw head slotting machines in the 1930s and began concentrating on the fastener industry in 1950 with the development of flat-die thread rolling machines. EWMenn has shipped more than 600 of its Model GW-52 flat die thread rolling machines worldwide since it was developed in the 1960s. Currently EWMenn manufactures flat-die thread rolling machines, assembly systems, high-speed pointers and special machinery for a range of applications and is headquartered at Trift 8, D – 57271 Hilchenbach, Germany.
