Emhart Teknologies announced the winners of its second �Create the Future� design contest. The grand prize was awarded to Michael Liebschner of Houston for a noninvasive bone and joint damage detection system called an OsteoSonic. Liebschner will receive $20,000 in cash or a new hybrid car.
Emhart received more than 1,100 entries from engineering professionals and students.
�Based on the great number and quality of submissions, it shows that ingenuity, engineering and manufacturing are still prime movers in the United States,� stated CEO Paul Gustafson.
