Edward W. Daniel Company Marking 100th Anniversary
As a young man, Edward Daniel envisioned building a company to manufacture hardware for the marine industry. The Edward W. Daniel Co. became a reality in 1921 when he opened a manufacturing and distribution center in Cleveland to serve the Great Lakes marine Industry.
By the 1930s, the company began supplying other industries while developing patents for elevator rail clips, fiberglass reinforced yokes and hand held safety hooks.
In 1979, Edward W. Daniel Co. expanded operations to Chattanooga, TN, adding a forging plant to support the finish machining operations from the Cleveland facility.
In Chattanooga, the company’s “Diamond D” trademark was created.
Over the years, Edward W. Daniel Co. added imported product lines while continuing to manufacture at the Cleveland facility.
In 2021, the company announced a merger with Cleveland City Forge.
Today Edward W. Daniel Co. manufactures, packages, warehouses and distributes products including anchor shackles, bent eyes, C-clamps, chain & hook hardware, elevator rail clips, eye bolts and nuts, flanges, hoist rings, pad eyes, rod ends, turnbuckles, u-bolts, wire rope fittings, yokes and pins.
Industries served include aircraft, automotive, cabinet manufacturers, chemical, construction, electric motors, elevator, equipment manufacturers, agriculture, fence, machine shops and tools, maintenance, marine, metals, mining, pressure vessels, petroleum, power transmission, rigging, steel fabricating, sign erectors and hangers, towers and utilities.
