Company Founded in 1689 Finds Customers Rank Price Only 7th Today
FEATURE
When a company in business since 1689 anonymously surveyed customers in 2011, here is the order of most important factors in their buying:
1. Quality
2. Cost Effective
3. Availability of parts
4. Deliveries
5. Service
6. Tech Support
7. Price
“Is everyone here surprised that price is number 7?” Scott MacKay asked the Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association 37th annual convention. “Do you see all the items listed above that matter more than price?”
In his State of Manufacturing address, the Husqvarna Construction Products director of distribution sales emphasized that customer needs will always be the most important.
“It’s the front line of our business: getting to know customers first hand. This is where I was able to establish long term relationships with decision makers and owners,” MacKay explained.
