China Extends Tariffs on EU and UK Fasteners
China’s commerce ministry will extend antidumping tariffs on certain steel fasteners imported from the European Union and UK for five years, Reuters reports.
The tariffs, seen as retaliation for EU duties on Chinese fasteners, will be imposed from June 29.
In February, the European Commission approved definitive antidumping duties of up to 86.5% on imports of certain iron or steel fasteners from China, Fastener + Fixing Magazine reports.
“The definitive anti-dumping duty is imposed on imports of certain fasteners of iron or steel, other than of stainless steel, i.e. wood screws (excluding coach screws), self-tapping screws, other screws and bolts with heads (whether or not with their nuts or washers, but excluding screws and bolts for fixing railway track construction material), and washers originating in” China,” according to Fastener +Fixing.
