British Metalforming Joins EAMA
Jason Sandefur
The Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM) joined the Engineering and Machinery Alliance. West Midlands-based CBM is the UK trade association for manufacturers of fasteners, forgings, pressings and fabrications.
CBM director general John Houseman said his members want stronger representation in Brussels as well as in Whitehall and Westminster on these issues.
“We are not big enough to do this on our own, and in joining EAMA we won'”t have to sacrifice any of our independence or identity to get our views across,” Houseman stated.
The Alliance offers member associations access to Orgalime, the engineering sector”s main lobbying organization inside the EU.
“Our industries dovetail nicely in terms of representing UK capabilities and views in lobbying and commerce,” added EAMA chairman Graham Hayes. 2007 FastenerNews.com
