Bossard Sees ‘Successful’ Start in 2008

Bossard Group started “very successfully” into 2008, with consolidated net income achieving record growth of 30% to CHF 13.8 million (US$13.3 million) on sales of CHF 204.3 million (US$196.5m) during the first four months of the year. Operating profit rose by 14.8% to CHF 17.7 million (US$17m), while operating costs amounted to CHF 53.9 million (US$51.8m).
Sales in America dropped 8.7% to CHF 55.4 million (US$53.3m).
Sales in Europe grew 5.5 % to CHF 124.1 million )US$116.8m), while growth was slightly slower in Asia, as sales rose 4.2 % to CHF 24.8 million (US$23.8m).
“Based on (growing raw material costs), we expect somewhat slower growth overall in the second half of the year,” the company stated.
