Bossard Reports Record Profit

Bossard Group marked its 175th year in business by reporting record profit for 2005. Net income rose 14.4% to CHF 20.9 million (US$16.04 million) on a 3.5% sales increase to CHF 515 million. Bossard sales growth was strongest in America, Asia and Eastern Europe. American sales grew 7% while profit more than doubled to CHF 4.8 million. During 2005 Bossard said it centralized it warehouses to enhance margins.
Bossard’s performance in Asia was considerably stronger, with overall regional sales gaining 34%. Sales volume in India grew 53%, while China sales rose 41%. Bossard now has more than 500 employees in Asia – roughly one-third of its total personnel.
Bossard also reported sustained success from its alliance with Germany-based B�llhoff Group. “This cooperation has already led to the acquisition of a major customer and to further interesting orders,” Bossard stated.
Zurich, Switzerland-based Bossard also announced that Anton Lauberwas elected to board to fill the vacancy left by the late Heinrich Bossard, who died in a plane crash during a holiday trip to New Zealand in December 2004. Web: bossard.com �2006 FastenerNews.com
