Bossard Opens Canadian Subsidiary

Bossard Group opened its Canadian subsidiary in Montreal, Quebec, “allowing the Canadian manufacturing industry to benefit from its unique expertise, purchasing power, and state of the art vendor management inventory systems,” according to a press release.

Bossard’s customers include local and multinational industrial companies.

The move comes months after the June 1, 2014, opening of Bossard’s first office in Canada.  Located only a few kilometers from the Montreal International Airport, Bossard Canada aims to be the C Part logistics provider of choice to the Canadian manufacturing market by offering not only a wide scope of C parts, but also unique engineering expertise as well as sophisticated Inventory Management systems. 

Last month, Bossard acquired the fastening solutions division of Forind Avio Elettronica S.p.a. for an undisclosed sum. Forind Avio’s fastener division has annual sales of CHF 6 million and employs 10 people. Founded in 1968, Forind Avio Elettronica S.p.a. supplies the aerospace, telecommunications and electronics industries. Bossard already operates a branch office in Legnano, near Milan, with more than 20 employees.

The deal was the latest in a string of acquisitions for Bossard. In early January Bossard completed its acquisition of Arizona-based distributor Aero-Space Southwest. And in December Bossard acquired a 60% stake in Oslo, Norway-based Torp Fasteners

Züg, Switzerland-based Bossard Group is an international supplier industrial fasteners and assembly technology, with over 800,000 products, technical consulting and warehouse management. The group has more than 1,800 employees in 26 countries, and generated CHF 621 million ($CAD 867 million) in sales in 2014.
