Black & Decker Reports Double-Digit Fastener Profit

Fastening and Assembly Systems sales at Black & Decker climbed 3.3% to $173.4 million during the second quarter of 2006 “due to a double-digit growth rate in Asia,” CEO Nolan Archibald stated. Q2 segment profit rose 16% to $25.9 million.
Fastener sales grew 2.7% to $343.6 million during the first six months of 2006, with profit gaining 8.4% to $50.2 million.
Overall Black & Decker revenue from continuing operations edged up to $1.7 billion during Q2, and net earnings increased 8% to a record $152.2 million. First half sales grew by $7.7 million to $3.2 billion, while profit dipped 10% to $265.3 million. Web: bdk.com �2006 FastenerNews.com
