Aviall Boosts Boeing’s Sales & Profit

Fresh off its $1.7 billion acquisition of Aviall Inc., The Boeing Co. reported revenue rose 26% to $17.5 billion. Q4 net earnings more than doubled to $989 million.
Boeing bought Aviall in the fourth quarter for $1.7 billion plus $448 million in assumed debt. Aviall will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services (BCA). Aviall’s parts ordering and supply chain management capabilities will also be utilized by Boeing Integrated Defense Systems’ Support Systems business.
BCA revenue increased 37% to $7.6 billion in Q4, driven by a 41% increase in airplane deliveries and higher services revenue. BCA operating earnings doubled to $665 million. During 2006 BCA revenue rose 33% to $28.5 billion, while operating earnings grew 91% to $2.7 billion.
Overall Boeing revenue grew 19.2% to $52.64 billion, but net income declined 13.8% to $2.2 billion. Web: boeing.com �2007 FastenerNews.com
